This course is designed to assess and validate NAII Skills competencies for candidates whose NAII certification lapsed in the previous 24 months. The skills include Oxygen Therapy, Sterile Dressing Changes, Wound Irrigations, Nasogastric and Gastrostomy Care, Ostomy Care, Fecal Disimpaction, Tracheostomy Care, Urinary Catheterizations, and IV Assistive Activities.<\/p>\n\t\t\t <\/div>\r\n\t\t\t \r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\r\n\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t<\/div>\r\n<\/section>\r\n\n\n

Successful graduates will submit applications for listing on the NAII Registry and will be considered as being a Certified Nursing Assistant II (CNA II). Please forward the following by E-Mail with the Subject\u00a0\u201cNAII Refresher\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0to nai_naii_medaide@forsythtech.edu to be placed on our waiting list.<\/p>\n

a copy of your current unexpired NA1 Listing,<\/p>\n

a copy of the NC Board of Nursing NAII registry listing showing the expiration date within the previous 24 months<\/p>\n

your Unexpired Driver\u2019s License or Official Government Issued signature bearing photo ID<\/p>\n

your Social Security Card blocking out all but the last four numbers<\/p>\n

Documentation on letterhead from the HR Department or the supervising nurse stating that you are eligible for NAII competency assessment in one of two ways<\/p>\n

You worked at least eight hours for compensation during the previous 24 months performing nursing care activities under the supervision of a Registered Nurse<\/p>\n

OR<\/p>\n

You have had a continuous 24 month period during which patient care activities were performed for compensation.<\/p>\n

      Recommended Courses and Skills (Technical Skills)<\/h2>\n

      Candidates must be certified as NA II and be listed on the NC Department of Health Service Regulation Nurse Aide Registry with no substantiated findings of abuse, neglect, or misappropriation of property.<\/p>\n

      Career Tracks<\/h2>\r\n\t\t\t\t

      The Nursing Assistant II performs nursing skills approved by the North Carolina Board of Nursing and under the supervision of licensed nurses. Emphasis is placed on infection control, including sterile technique. Tasks that may be delegated to the NA II by the licensed nurse include: sterile technique, wound Irrigation and care, suctioning, tracheostomy care, IV fluid assistive activities, ostomy care, urinary catheter insertion and removal, and tube feedings.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t
