<h2>What You&#8217;ll Learn<\/h2><br>\r\n\t\t\t      <p class=\"p1\">The <i>SEC<\/i> is made up of four core courses:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p1\"><b><i>CT Physics &amp; Equipment, <\/i><\/b><\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\"><b><i>CT Procedures, <\/i><\/b><\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\"><b><i>CT Sectional Anatomy<\/i><\/b><\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\"><b><i>CT Pathology.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span><\/i><\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Collectively, the courses cover the four <i>Exam Content Specification categories<\/i> of Patient Care, Safety, Image Production and Procedures.<b> <\/b><\/p>\n\t\t\t    <\/div>\r\n\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t<div data-aos=\"fade-up\" data-aos-delay=\"100\" class=\"fy-two-column-list__right col-12 col-md-6 offset-lg-1 col-lg-6\">\r\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"wysiwyg\" style=\"padding-bottom: 3rem;\">\r\n\t\t\t      <p><b><i>CT Physics &amp; Equipment <\/i><\/b>covers system operations and components, image processing and display, image quality, and artifacts in computed tomography.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Emphasis is placed on the data acquisition components, tissue attenuation conversions, image manipulation, and factors controlling image resolution.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><i>Procedures<\/i> <\/b>provides a thorough understanding of patient care, patient assessment, basic pharmacology, medical ethics and law, and scanning procedures while emphasizing the proper use and administration of oral and intravenous contrast agents and contrast reactions.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><i>CT Sectional Anatomy<\/i> <\/b>covers all aspects of cross-sectional anatomy as it relates to the CT imaging process.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>The function and identification of anatomical structures within the head, neck, chest, abdomen, pelvis, and musculoskeletal system visualized on CT images are emphasized.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><i>CT Pathology<\/i> <\/b>provides a thorough understanding of common diseases or trauma processes demonstrated by CT.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Pathologies are presented by etiology, associated symptoms, exam(s) performed to demonstrate, and the appearance on CT.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The <i>CT Clinical Experience Course<\/i>, offered through Continuing Education, provides the ability to earn the clinical experience needed, including documented proof and verification of exams performed, to satisfy the ARRT requirement for Clinical Experience.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Students select the clinical facility where they will complete their clinical experience.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>A facility can be selected from a list of approved clinical affiliates or, students can request a specific site be added.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Program faculty will guide students through the new facility approval process.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Students work with their clinical site to create a schedule that is approved by both parties and then the agreed<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>upon schedule is then submitted for faculty approval.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><b>Students that complete the <i>SEC <\/i>and the <i>CT Clinical Experience Course<\/i> are eligible to pursue the ARRT postprimary certification Certificate<\/i> students will complete at least 16 hours of CT-specific education in patient care, safety, image production, and procedures as required by the ARRT for candidates seeking class=\"p2\"><b><i>CAT 210 Outcome<\/i>: <\/b> Students will be able to explain the sequence of events in image production from data acquisition through image display.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><b><i>CAT 211 Outcome<\/i>:<\/b><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Students will be able to recognize and describe a variety of adverse events that may occur following the administration of intravascular iodinated contrast media and take the appropriate measures to manage an event.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><b><i>CAT 212 Outcome<\/i>:<\/b><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Students will be able to locate and identify gross anatomic structures within the thoracic cavity.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><b><i>CAT 214 Outcome<\/i>:<\/b><span
