Who we are<\/h2>\r\n\t\t\t\t

Upward Bound is a federally funded TRI<\/span>O program granted by the U.S. Department of Education. The program provides opportunities that are aimed to enhance students\u2019 academic development,\u00a0 engage in career exploration, assist students with their academic progress, and motivate students toward successful completion of their high school education while preparing for post-secondary education opportunities.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Other TRI<\/span>O programs that you may have heard of include Student Support Services, Upward Bound Math\/Sciences, Veterans Upward Bound, Talent Search, Educational Opportunity Centers, and the Ronald E. McNair Post-baccalaureate Achievement Program. These programs were established to assist students in overcoming class, social, academic, and cultural barriers to higher education. About TRIO<\/h2>\r\n\t\t\t\t

Our<\/span> host schools we work with are North Forsyth High School and Glenn High School. <\/span>Each year, <\/span>the <\/span>Upward Bound<\/span> (UB) <\/span>staff <\/span>identifies<\/span>, with the help of\u202f<\/span>host high <\/span>schools<\/span> partners,\u202fstudents who meet <\/span>UB<\/span> program requirements. <\/span>UB<\/span> services only <\/span>60<\/span> students <\/span>at each <\/span>partner<\/span> school each<\/span> year by providing them with academic, <\/span>career, <\/span>social, and cultural support throughout<\/span> high school<\/span>. By applying to<\/span> U<\/span>B<\/span>, students will <\/span>take<\/span> a giant step toward assuring <\/span>they are prepared for <\/span>post-secondary <\/span>education<\/span> and <\/span>have academic success<\/span>.<\/span> UB is free for students who apply and are <\/span>excepted<\/span> into the program.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t
