Such skills are required to provide personal care for patients, residents, the elderly, and others requiring medical\u202fassistance\u202fin a healthcare setting. Emphasis is placed on patient safety and infection control, the aging process, communication, legal and ethical issues, patient rights, personal care, vital signs, elimination, nutrition, emergencies, rehabilitation, proper body mechanics and mental health.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Through classroom instruction, laboratory work and practical clinical application students are prepared to take the North Carolina Nurse Aide Competency Examination, a requirement for listing on the NC Nurse Aide I Registry. The fee for this service is <strong>$95 for 2 years<\/strong> and can be renewed or transferred between programs, if needed. A direct helpline and video tutorials are available on the site. <strong>Prior to setting up your COMPLIO account you will need:<\/strong><br \/>\n1. One form of identification must be a <strong>Driver\u2019s License (not expired) -or- official government-issued signature bearing photo ID.<\/strong><br \/>\n2. Social Security Card <strong>(first and last names must match above ID exactly)<\/strong><br \/>\n3. Copy of High School Diploma\/GED -or- copy of unofficial college transcript.<br \/>\n4.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Documentation of successfully passing the TABE placement test (NON-OPTIONAL).<\/strong> You will be testing in the areas of reading and math. Placement testing is administered by appointment on West Campus in Room 8.<br \/>\nTo schedule an initial appointment or a retake, email nard@forsythtech.edu. <strong>A 30 day waiting period is required after 2 unsuccessful attempts before a 3rd retake can be scheduled.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>5. <strong>Proof of the following immunizations and vaccinations:<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022 <strong>Tuberculin (TB) Test<\/strong>\u2013 Negative results of <strong>2<\/strong> TB skin tests within the last <strong>12<\/strong> months <strong>(must be administered at least 7 but no more than 21 days apart)<\/strong> <strong>\u2013OR\u2013<\/strong> Negative results of <strong>1<\/strong> serum blood test (QuantiFERON, T. The healthcare facility holds the right to deny a<br \/>\nstudent admission into their facility based upon the information presented in the initial background<br \/>\ncheck and drug screening process.<br \/>\nAdditionally, national and\/or state registry and\/or licensure boards may prohibit eligibility for registry or<br \/>\nlicensure based on criminal background records. The criminal background check and drug screening are<br \/>\nadministered by a third-party vendor.<br \/>\nAfter the student completes the requirements for the background check, the clinical agency will notify<br \/>\nthe college if a student <strong>will not be allowed<\/strong> at the site due to a finding on the criminal background check.<br \/>\nSpecific information about the findings will <strong>NOT<\/strong> be disclosed to the college. If a student is denied access<br \/>\nto a clinical facility based on criminal background checks, the student will NOT receive a secondary<br \/>\nplacement in another facility.
